It is well known that the pedagogy of variation in mathematics has been paid extensive attention in the course of our traditional teaching of mathematics. Since the pedagogy of variation in mathematics, our students have much better basic knowledge and skilled basic technique than the students in the Occident. But it is the apparent truth that their abilities of solving practical, more complicated, and open problems are weaker than the occidental students'. On the other hand, our mathematical scholars and teachers have not stressed on the theoretical research of the pedagogy of variation in mathematics. Moreover, there are some obscurities and errors in their understanding about this teaching. Moreover, little teachers analyze deeply the pedagogy of variation from the cases and experiments. Therefore, there are important theoretical and practical significances on the study and research of pedagogy of variation in mathematics. First, we can establish the theory of the Chinese characteristic pedagogy of variation in mathematics basing on the practices of our mathematical teaching. Next, this theory can direct the practices of teaching in high school to improve the effect of classes and to promote the development of the students.In the present paper ,By the method of studying cases , documental method and experimental method., we study the following aspects:(1)Basing on the results we have, we introduce the concepts of the variation in mathematics and the pedagogy of variation in mathematics separated into the conceptual variation and the procedural variation and obtain the theoretical direction of the pedagogy of variation in mathematics from theory of study, and theory of pedagogy.(2)We summarize the principle and the executable form of the class on the pedagogy of variation in mathematics related to the practices of teaching in high school.(3)From the pedagogy of variation in mathematics on problem solving, we raise the pattern of the pedagogy of variation in mathematics in the class of the highest grade of high school. Also we study the variant teaching by the cases of teaching.(4)By the experiment of the pedagogy of variation in mathematics of an exercise class, we analyze, study, valuate and rethink the results of this experiment.(5)We point out the problems in the application of the pedagogy of variation in mathematics . Also, basing on the cases, we rethink and give some suggestions.By he pedagogy of variation in mathematics can improve students' ability of thinking and effect of classes. It's the key of effective teaching.
