The Research On Cultivating Strategies Of Undergraduates' Public Crisis Response Consciousness

Public crisis, as having the far-reaching influence on human beings, has gradually brought the attention of many scholars after breaking out of SARS in 2003. Cultivating people's crisis response consciousness becomes one of important links in crisis management. Undergraduates, as a group having important influence in the society, are the important strength in the construction of future society. Their public crisis response consciousness relates to crisis response consciousness of the whole nation directly, and has potential significance to future development of society. Therefore, cultivating undergraduates' public crisis response consciousness should be regarded highly by the university, and treated as one of important aspects of improving undergraduates' integrated qualities.Although the occurrence of SARS has certain contingency, the possibility of incidents such as fire, food poisoning, crime which can hurt students' safety of life and property is a little big. These incidents disturb students' studying and life, and at the same time, make university management face the rigorous test. To lessen damage on students bringing by these crises, university's manager should have crisis response consciousness and work out the entire crisis handling mechanism, and the students who bear the damage directly should have certain crisis response consciousness and ability. The investigation shows: though undergraduates have certain crisis response consciousness, problems and shortcomings exist to some extent, and the main cause is that universities don't pay enough attention to cultivating undergraduates' public crisis response consciousness and don't carry out systematic crisis education. The author has advanced strategies to cultivate undergraduates' public crisis response consciousness: firstly, make clear the theory basis of cultivating undergraduates' public crisis response consciousness: thought of discontinuous education, education idea of learning to survive, and crisis management theory. Secondly, comb the practical experience of cultivating citizen and students' public crisis response consciousness at home and abroad. Finally, advance concrete measures to cultivate undergraduates' public crisis response consciousness in our country: strengthen theory research and education propagate; construct one faculty team to cultivate public crisis response consciousness; compile the teaching material on the knowledge of crisis response; be very critical to undergraduates' military training; enhance undergraduates' mental health education; university cooperates with community, carrying out crisis response maneuver and so on.
