The undergraduate emergencies are inevitable and unpredictable, to which effective preventions are required to be taken by modern universities. In addition, the students' recovery after certain emergencies is also very significant where universities are playing a key role. On the other hand, facing with various kinds of emergencies with various features, universities are always not able to attend to all parts simultaneously due to various internal and external limitations. In this thesis, a systematic investigation was demonstrated on those issues of undergraduate emergencies in Chinese universities based on a comparison with local and abroad advanced concepts.Chapter one of the thesis reviews theories on undergraduate emergencies and summarizes the current achievements, showing the originality of this research. Chapter two explores the significances of effective reactions towards undergraduate emergencies in China in three aspects, namely, the necessity of building a harmonious society, the need of university's sustainable development and the demand of undergraduates' healthy pace towards maturity. Chapter three deals with the present achievements and shortcomings of the solutions to undergraduate emergencies. Chapter four analyzes the causes and insufficiencies of settlement of undergraduate emergencies. In reaction to the previous causes and shortcomings, chapter five analyzes the proper settlement and issues the advisable strategies in aspects of conceptions, organizing responsible stuffs, the prevention of crises and institution structure. At last, the thesis develops conclusions could serve as strategic and tactic instructions towards the measures of undergraduate emergencies.
