| The modern P.E. teaching process is the one that makes the motions automatic gradually at the mercy of psychological activities. The level of skill-grasping lies in the level of psychological enginery and development, such as emotional ideas, orientation and judgment of space and time, reaction, thought, attention as well as mode, which all assist in the adjustment of skills and provide foundation for increasing the level of skills.In the field of exercise psychology, the research on attention is always considered to be one of the most valuable researching tasks in the way of application and theoretics. Based on previous research experience and achievements, the paper centers on between attention characteristics of college students who have different specialties and different exercise levels and who have the same specialty and different exercise levels and exercise levels by using the relevant regressive analyses, and, describes attention characteristic mechanism in grasping basketball skills.The paper chooses forty students (male) ranking 2005 of basketball classes whose specialty is P.E. from Sports Collage, Jiang Xi Normal University and forty students (male) ranking 2005 who take basketball as an elective course from Nan Chang Engineering College as subjects. It tests attention quality via attention quality questionnaires and checks the credit and efficiency of the questionnaires, which, undoubtedly, presents comparably high credit and meets the needs of the research. According to the consequences of consulting experts, five level indexes of exercise skills have been decided: X1 successful times of breakthrough in ten times;X2 successful shooting times every ten times in five points;X3 two persons'successful times of passing and meeting balls between 5m in regulated time ; X4 the come-and-go dribbling time in a half-court;X5 the time of dribbling two balls from the foul shot line to the base line(5.8m)。Afterwards, experts will be desired to examine the credit and efficiency of the five tests, whose results will be seen as assessment of college students'grasping basketball skills.The research object of the paper is attention characteristics and the five-exercise-skill indexes of the subjects. The research aim of the paper is to find out whether the attention characteristics distinction between college students of the same specialty and those of different specialties is obvious, and, moreover, puts down the subjects'attention characteristics ways while they are using the five exercise skills. It deals with all the data by the statistic software—SPSS12.0. And has carried on the variance analysis, the single factor analysis and the regression analysis,and adopt Variance analyses and odd factor analyses on attention and exercise skill indexes and the whole exercise results.Research supposition: there is no obvious distinction among the subjects of different specialties on various latitudes of attention characteristics and there are obvious distinctions among the subjects of different exercise skill levels on attention characteristics; while there are obvious distinctions of the subjects'attention characteristics when they are exercising skills.The main conclusion of the research: there is no obvious distinction on attention characteristics between college students of P.E. and those of non-P.E.. The relevant analyses consequences show that attention characteristics are closely related to the five-exercise-skill indexes: college students who have good attention characteristic indexes can grasp basketball skills better. Two kinds of attention characteristics appear when the subjects are exercising the five exercise skills: individual distinction (individuality) and processing distinction (collectivity). Therefore, in the future research, perception teaching experiment designs of attention characteristics should be increased other psychological factors which influence the grasp of basketball skills should be found out further in the point of perceivable psychology.
