Examination is a specific practice behavior of human being, and it's a common phenomenon in our society. The system of examination is the common result of the evolution of human society and the socioeconomic development of every country. In 21st century, education is regard as the most important object in the administration of the governments. Examination, as an important component of education, is tightly connected with the teaching and learning, and has huge influence on the future and worth orientation of the young people. Therefore, to find out an ideal examinational system is the common topic of all the governments in the world, including our country. Our country is the earliest country in the world that chooses scholars as officials and selects new students for high school by examination. In present, a lot of attentions have been paid to the entrance examination for college, which has already been the high-scale and the most deeply influential behavior in the educational examination. The innovation and development of the entrance examination for college could reflect the innovation and development of educational system, and the long-term analyses of examination paper of the entrance examination for college also could summarize its innovation and development.In this article, the longitudinal analyses of the 20-year (from 1986 to 2005) college entrance examination papers for physics were processed in the following three aspects: (1) test types and format; (2) the proportion of test content and knowledge points; (3) the proportion of experiment and test content.
