The teaching of reading is an important component in the teaching of Chinese in high school, whose quality reflects the quality of Chinese teaching. To a great extent, the low efficiency in Chinese teaching is due to the low efficiency in the teaching of reading. Therefore, in the reform of Chinese teaching, great efforts should be devoted to the reform of the teaching of reading.Starting with the nature of reading, this thesis attempts to discuss the practice of the teaching of reading, analyze the existing problems, find out the critical points of the problems and then using the theories of Discovery Learning and Aesthetic of Reception for reference and responding to the need of information society and the curriculum reform in basic education, the thesis puts forward the theory of the Discovery Teaching of Reading. The Discovery Teaching of Reading is a process in which with the teacher's help, students directly contact the texts and through reading, feeling, thinking and exploring, etc., they actively construct meaning, acquiring experience, renewing themselves and through their discovering of the texts'meaning, knowledge, themselves, aesthetic, writing modes, writing features and problems, they can finally make progress in knowledge, affect, ability, etc. and go beyond themselves. The thesis discusses the construction of the Discovery Teaching of Reading of Chinese in senior high school from the angles below: first, constructing the conception of the Discovery Teaching of Reading of Chinese; second, the basic features of the Discovery Teaching of Reading; third, the content that should be discovered by students with the teacher's guidance; fourth, the general procedures of the Discovery Teaching of Reading; finally, identifying the teacher's strategies of guidance in the Discovery Teaching of Reading of Chinese.The main method of research is to combine literary research and practical experience. The Discovery Teaching of Reading will enable the student to be the subject of reading and learning and make the Chinese class more generative and colorful. It is hoped that this thesis will bring a new conception and a practicable method to the teachers who are conducting the teaching of reading.
