Creative thinking is one of the reflections characterized with creation and mobility. Today, not only knowledge economy has developed rapidly, but also quality–teaching has been boosted vigorously. So it is very important to cultivate the persons with knowledge innovation ability to adapt to the knowledge economic age. The research training middle school students'creative thinking is an education experiment of exploration and a system engineering with important significance in middle school geography teaching. Traditional geography teaching like repeating what the book says, learning by rote, and having"earth"without"reason"can't adapt with the demand of training the students'creative thinking ability, so exploring the new creative teaching models has become the inexorable trend. In this paper, it regards teaching theory and experiment methodology as guidelines and regards training students'creative thinking as object on the basis of consults documents. Try to propose some reference of geography teaching through the research on training the students'creative thinking ability.This paper has explained thinking, creative thinking and the characters of creative thinking at first. On this basis, it has analyzed to the feasibility in training students'creative thinking of the geography teaching, and at the same time it has established the focus of training creative thinking. On the basis of the correlative creative thinking theories, and combining the geography characters, it puts forward the teaching model of creative thinking training in different tapies of geography teaching. Finally, though teaching practice, carry on the teaching experiment to two parallel classes of Grade one of junior middle school according to the creative thinking training model put forward. Then carry on creative thinking evaluate to implementing effect, analyze the score with t-test. The result of study indicates, through the training of the creative thinking in geography class for one term, experiment class students to contrasting class students difference remarkable in flexibility, originality and diversity of creative thinking, and experiment class students are obviously higher than contrasting class students in scoring equally. The research conclusion as followed: (1) the creative thinking of the middle school students can be trained though training; (2) students that through creative thinking training model we has put forward, their creative thinking ability level is obviously higher than the creative thinking ability level of students according to traditional teaching training in geography class.
