Structure And Action: Rationality Behavioral In The Modern Society

Structure and behavior is a classic and core topic in the sociology, which runs through the studies of the scholars since the inception of sociology, and the study on the relationship between the structure and behavior is an effective way to understand the society. This paper mainly reviews the theories of the structure and behavior based on the recent theories, thinks that the society structure is not summarized simply as the mandatory factors imposed on the human beings, In opposite, they can make all to do something. This is the structure duality said by Giddens. The kingdom of the human beings is restricted, the human beings create the society but being the subjects of behavior which is restricted by the history, instead that they create it on the conditions selected. The social production and reproduction is not only a series of mechanical process, but a skilled behavioral process done by all members. But not all members know what the skills are, and how to use the skills to understand the expected results as behaviors. They just are a premise of macro-structure which they affect or change their behaviors inconsciently as to the environment that their action are happened, and also their action are restricted. One of the characteristics of modern society is that the rationality is growing, developing and popularizing. China has being the characteristics of modernity, regardless of social or individual, after nearly 30 years of reform and opening up. After analyzing the rationality and modernity, this paper thinks that the spirit and thought of rationality has to come into the minds of everybody, and the restriction of the social individual based on the social structure relates the purpose to instrument, which is a performance of behavior rationalism. Then, this paper studies the behavior of the students to join in CPC, results that, in the situation of the social structure transferring, market economic system not perfect enough, it is a rational behavior that the students think join in CPC as a chip into society. Firstly this rational behavior is originated from the social structure transferring to moderation, secondly from the generation gap passing to the impersonal experience. This paper uses the methods of quantitative study mainly and qualitative study supplemented.The five parts as follows:Firstly, this paper discusses the origin of this study, the study variance and transference of the relationship between the social structure and behavior, how to understand this relationship, and its importance in the sociology study; next, discusses the variance and transference of the relationship in China and why the students chose to join in CPC.Secondly, after reviewing the theories of social structure, sorts out the theories from different perspectives. And reviews the motion of the students join in CPC in China, finds out their lack is too strong in the study purpose and subjectivity , which leads to the findings of the study is biased; After studying variance and transference of the social structure in China and its influence to the social individual, thinks that, the thoughts and behaviors of the social individual is being more rational in the modernization society. efining the core conceptions such as social structure, rationality, rationalism of human beings, modernization, thinks that must understand the social structure in the relation net, the form of factors and criterion system perspectives; And thinks that rationality is a rational spirit, rational thought and behavior way, it always includes: understanding the motion of purpose clearly, expecting and weighting the needs of behavior, choosing the instruments account on the purpose; explains modernization as a background of behavior occurring.The third component is study designed, in the assumption that the author of the study, theoretical framework, Methods of data collection and the presentation and explanation. The fourth is the focus of this article, the first part is statistical analysis of the data.
