Inquiry teaching is what the New Curriculum Reform advocates. However, while in practice, the results are not as good as people hope they will be. To improve the inquiry teaching, the paper deals with ideas based on the research on the related factors.We conduct the research by consulting documents and doing surveys. When studying the documents, we found out the influential factors. They are: evaluation, teaching facilities, classroom hours, teachers, ideas, abilities, habits, confidents, students, the size of a class, the relationship with the traditional teaching, the contents and the types of training. To survey attitudes to relevant factors, we send questionnaires to biology teachers who have a bachelor's degree and two-year teaching experience. From the surveys, a new fact emerged. Evaluation is the most important factor that affects the inquiry learning result.81.6% of the teachers do not believe that the educational selection system agree with the inquiry learning method. 50% of the teachers hold the idea that the length of class hours is to blame. Those who believe only top students would like it are 36.8%. 44.7% think that the study should not be too difficult when 68.4% say what the students can do now is asking questions. The same number of teachers agree that knowledge is not absolute. About half cannot tell the difference between laws and general rules. 84.2% of the teachers realize that what the students learned before may affect the teaching results. But from the statistics we know 78.9% of them do not know the related proper terms. The survey shows that the teachers have reasonable opinions on hot spots of education, Nobody goes to extreme.76.3% are confident in applying inquiry teaching method with proper train. 60.5% believe students will act in co-ordination after train. Yet 42.1% think that the most important thing is to learn how to carry on the method. Apart from evaluation, they think class sizes and class hours are also very important factors.In the paper, we have some suggestions for the teachers. First, the leaders and the teachers should attach importance to quality training in a age of knowledge-based economy, knowing that the teaching evaluation, if not change right now, will change in the future. We should be prepared for the change. Second, teachers should change their views of knowledge. Third, study the inquiry learning method and teaching approach. The last, we must give full scope to these ideas and actions.
