Classics reading, important in the middle school Chinese teaching, but as a result of all sorts of reasons, is actually neglected and therefore many malpractices have appeared; This article puts forward some proposals and suggestions on this question.This article considers the classics are the famous and great works that has significant influence and lasting importance in the history. To middle-school students classics reading promotes the development of their moral, intelligence and esthetic, and helps them to set up the correct outlook on life, summarizes the historical tradition, the experience and the lesson of classics reading, and after a thorough investigation analyses the misunderstanding, the challenge and the difficulty, like the pressure of examination-oriented education, the enticement of electronic and network culture and so on.Finally this artice affords some ideas to overcome the difficulties, and solve the problems, and proposes some principles the measures and the methods to instruct middle-school students to read the classics.
