Social skill refers to a behavior way obtained fromlearning by the individual to effectively communicate withothers in social environments. It is a multi-dimensionstructure, including skills such as receiving, explaining andcontrolling social information.The development of social skills is an important contentto impoverished undergraduates sociality development. It isrich in theoretic and realistic significances that we unfoldthe research about social skill of impoverished undergraduate.Using some relative questionnaire, the thesis works on thedevelopmental traits and the influential factors of socialskills in impoverished undergraduate. The followingconclusions may be gotten through this investigation:(1) The total score of the Social Skills Inventory (SSI)in impoverished undergraduates is lower than that ofnon-impoverished undergraduates, but there is no remarkabledifference. The emotional expressivity and social control inimpoverished undergraduates are obviously lower than those ofnon-impoverished undergraduates.(2) Results suggested that in impoverished undergraduates,there are no obvious main effects and interactions among grades,specialties in every sub-scales and the total score of SSI;there are remarkable gender differences in emotionalexpressivity and emotional control sub-scales, the emotionalexpressivity score of schoolgirls is obvious higher than thatof schoolboys, and the emotional control score of schoolboys is obvious higher than that of schoolgirls; in addition, thereexist grade×gender interactions in the social sensitivitysub-scale and grade×gender×specialty interactions inemotional expressivity and social sensitivity sub-scales.(3) Demographic variable, parenting style and personalityare the influential variables of social skills development.Among these variables, the main influential factors are genderfactor of demographic variable, rejection and denial,punishment and firm control factors of mother-parenting stylevariable, extroversion, conscientiousness, agreeableness andopenness to experience factors of personality variable.Father-parenting style variable is not direct effect on socialskills development, but there are high relations betweenpersonality and emotional relationship of parents.
