This text deals with the present research condition ofcourse sources of local geography home and abroad. The writerthinks it necessary to arry on a research of all sides and manyangles into the developing of local geography course resourcesin a county. The aim is to stir up the students' interest inlearning geography, and help the students understand theknowledge in the teaching material. It is useful for us tonurture the students' affection of the hometown, and also goodfor us to foster the student's various abilities. We can attractthe whole society's attention to geography teaching, and atlast to the whole education by this development, Besides, thedevelopment promotes the geography teachers' professionalqualities. This article analyzes the relations between thecourse resources of local geography, geography teaching inmiddle schools, and local geography teaching material. It aimsto prove that course resources of local geography are veryimportant in middle school geography teaching. Located on thelower reaches of the Li River, Li County has a long history.It is the granary of northwestern Hunan, a "southernTurpan" and the entrance to the Li area. As time goes by, thecity is developing day by day. A middle city will soon appearin the strand of the Dongting Lake. There are large quantities of nature and human geography course resources in Li County tobe developed. This text makes a detailed classification of thecourse resources of local geography in Li county from differentangles, so as to make it convenient for people to develop them.It also discusses the basic principles of developing in LiCounty: doing research economically, combining judgment andunderstanding, adjusting measures to local conditions,individuation principle, combining resources in and out ofschool, and the teacher's principal and leading part. The wayof developing course resources of local geography in Li Countyis varied. What is mainly studied in this text are the following:how to form a positive mechanism in developing the courseresources of local geography unitedly and commonly shared indifferent schools, how to build up the database and base oflocal geography course resources, how to guide the students tocarry on studying, and the teachers and the students'developing the resources together. In the process of developingcourse resources of local geography in Li County, there stillexist some problems needing resolving afterwards.
