The demand for talents in the information age has changed from knowledge-oriented to thinking-oriented,especially the development of higher-order thinking.In traditional geography teaching,local geography curriculum resources are relatively ignored,and textbook knowledge memory is paid more attention to.Students' learning enthusiasm is not high,learning efficiency is low,and the development of high-order thinking is relatively insufficient,which leads to disconnection with the demand for talents in contemporary society.Therefore,from the perspective of high-order thinking development,how to apply local geography curriculum resources to teaching and improve students' thinking quality,especially the development of students' high-order thinking is an urgent problem to be solved.This paper attempts to explore and answer this research question by developing local geography curriculum resources and teaching practice.The research adopts literature research method and case study method.Firstly,it combs the relevant literature and establishes Bloom's cognitive goal classification theory and situational cognition theory as the main theoretical basis.Secondly,according to the compulsory education geography curriculum standard(2011 edition),Hunan edition of junior high school geography textbook local geography activity content,students' high order thinking development requirements,Jingyuan county local geography curriculum resources integration analysis.Then combined with the case,it puts forward the application strategies of creating problem situations,carrying out case teaching,carrying out research-based learning,carrying out ideological and political education in curriculum,and carrying out local geography visits,surveys and inspection activities.Then the application of local geography curriculum resources to design the interpretation and application of contour map,sightseeing agriculture and rural tourism research learning teaching activities,and teaching implementation and teaching diversification evaluation.Finally,the teaching implementation effect of the development of higher-order thinking is summarized and analyzed.The study found that:(1)Through a series of teaching activities such as designing the mountain climbing route of Wulan Mountain,evaluating the rationality of the existing mountain climbing route,designing advertising slogans,and drawing home maps,students' high-order thinking such as problem solving,innovative thinking and critical thinking are well cultivated.(2)The application of local geographical resources in teaching improves the students' learning enthusiasm and learning effect,deepens the understanding of their hometown,and then cultivates a good national feelings.(3)Through group cooperative inquiry and extracurricular practical activities,students'comprehensive qualities such as teamwork spirit,communication and expression ability are cultivated,and students' all-round development is promoted.
