With China’s new round of curriculum reform of basic education (hereinafter referred to as the "new curriculum reform") speeding up the process and the idea advocated by the new curriculum reform unceasingly thoroughing popular feeling, the basic education curriculum reform has been under in various regions of our country, and geography also has followed the pace of the reform. As a result of the status of local geographical curriculum in geography teaching of middle school is further improved, and the related researchs, including the development of local geographical curriculum resources, local geographical textbook and its application of geography teaching in middle schools, are pay more and more attention by the experts, scholars and teachers of geographical education, which accelerates the process of the development and application of local geographical curriculum resources and its materials in China’s counties or cities. Therefore, with a new round of curriculum reform at present, according to the actual situation of the local geography in China’s counties or cities, it is necessary to collect the existing, dominant or in-school of local geographical curriculum resources and to explore potential, hidden or outside-school of those, how to use the local geography classroom rescources more effectively, at the same time in view of developing nature and humanistic local geographical school-based teaching materials and its application to the classroom teaching of geography in middle schools.The study is on the basis of the actual situation of the development and utilization of local geographical curriculum of junior middle schools in Xingan County, Guilin city, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, according to the new curriculum standard, educational teaching theory, geography teaching theory, local geography teaching theory, basing on a survey of three classes respectively coming from the representative junior middle schools of Xingan County, how to use the local geographical resources in the classroom of geography effectively for the first, second and third grade students, which analyzes the status of utilization and implementation of local geographical curriculum resources of junior middle schools in Xingan county and analyzes the exsisting problems of the development and application of local geographical curriculum resources so that some suggestions and actions of improving its status put forward, according to the natural and human geography of Xingan county, mining natural local curriculum resources, such as administrative division, natural resources, geographical and so on and other humanities local geography resources, including economy, historical culture, transportation, scenic spots and. Its purpose is better to adapt to the trend of curriculum reform in the world, has the implementation of new round curriculum reform of basic education in our country, comprehensively promotes quality education, changes the educational concept of "subject standard" and "knowledge centered", takes action to the implementation of new curriculum concept of "learning to live knowledge of useful geography", and makes students learn more closely related geographical knowledge around the world and enhances the students’ abilitie to survive.This study was based on the requirement of new curriculum reform and the idea of new curriculum standard, whose research object was taken as "the local geography curriculum resources in Xingan county, Guilin city". It was divided into four parts as follows:The first part discussed the research background, purpose and significance of the development and application of local geographical curriculum resources, and the present research situation at home and abroad.In the second part, it analyzed the theoretical basis of the local geographical curriculum resources, which includes the definition of the concepts of local geography, local geographical resources, local geographical course resources; it also demonstrated on the theoretical basis of development and application of local geographical curriculum resources, including the characteristics of local geography teaching, the kind of local geographical course resources, and the basic written steps and requirements of local geography textbook.In the third part, it carried on the analysis of the present application situation of local geograhical curriculum resources of junior middle schools in Xingan county by a sample survey of three representative junior middle schools in Xingan County. And it collected questionnaire data and statistical one so that tried to find out the existing problems, causes and countermeasures. The corresponding effective use of strategies are put forward for the first, second and third grade students in the level of psychological development and needs.In the fourth part, it combined with the actual situation of the territory of Xingan county, Guilin City, carried on the investigation, collected large amount of information and data, which included local related nature, geographical and cultural landscape, phenomenon, thing, organized and mining local geographical course resources that can be applied to geography teaching, also made the classification and induction of local geography course resources type so that prepared to develope local geography textbooks for junior middle schools in Xingan county, so it could be applied to the classroom teaching of geography at practice.This research adopted literature method, sample survey method, experience summary method, on-the-spot investigation method and so on.The result of study was to collected and reorganized the massive correlation data by the way of visiting local geography natural landscape, customs in the the territory of Xingan county, Guilin city. Lastly, it tried to design and writed a textbook of " Junior Middle School Geography in Xingan County ", which is suitable for the students of junior middle schools in Xingan county learning the local geography.Finally, the research made the following conclusion:by the way of investigation and inquirement of local geography, conditions and customs in the territory of Xingan county, Guilin city, collected and arranged so much common, failed to attract attention, significance of the natural and cultural landscape that these bits and pieces of physical landscape, phenomenon at the surround of the world could be focused into the edite of geography teaching materials, put the knowledge of surrounding geography into the system of geographical knowledge, at the same time the effective use of local geographical resources apply to the geographical classroom of junior high schools and make the students learn the content of local geography,which playes a role in the mutual promotion and development and accelerates the progress of geographical curriculum and its teaching, so improves students more comprehensive cognition and interest of learning.
