At the end of the 20th century, information technology based on thecomputer technology pushed the development of the whole world into anew time, making great changes take place in people's everyday life suchas learning, working and ways of life. As is known, information, materialand energy form the basis for the power of promoting the development ofthe mankind. All the countries in the world have realized the effect that IThas on education and all are taking effective measures to meet thechallenge brought by IT. Automation programming is an important part ofthe IT course in the middle school, which once played an outstanding partin the course of computer teaching However, it was for somesubjective and objective reasons that automation programming declinedat a time and the teachers and educators paid less attention to doingresearch into how to develop the middle school students' ability ofprogramming automation. Consequently, the middle school students arenot very familiar with programming automation. With the development ofthe curriculum model reformation, we must say, it is essential that weshould put more emphasis on improving the ability. As a computerteacher in the middle school, I mainly explore how to combine the theoryof developing the automation programming ability and the practice in theessay, according to the new curriculum model reformation, education andpsychology. This essay consists of six parts. The first part mainly pointsout the topic, confirms the purpose and meaning as well as theintroduction of the content along with the methods. For the second part, itmainly illustrate what is the ability of pupils' programming automationbased on almost four points, that is, the constitute and the substance ofthe ability, the forming process and the real significance together with theprinciple of the development. Thirdly, it makes a comprehensiveintroduction concerning the approaches to developing the ability, togetherwith more emphasis on the mistaken zone. Next comes the introductionof teaching pattem about "solving problems", and it try to solve someteaching problems through that pattern during the process of developingmiddle school students' programming automation in order to enhance theeffect of the ability. The fifth part mainly makes a conclusion about some other facts that affect students' programming automation ability. The lastpart describes the teaching trials and the tentative effect about thedevelopment of the programming automation ability.It is not only one of the goals of the new curriculum modelreformation to develop the students' ability of programming automationbut also a great challenge to us information teachers, as well as a testtoward the traditional teaching and teachers. For the purpose of lettingstudents enhance their level of programming design during the "Aproblem comes up and solve it", we teachers are supposed to study hardduring teaching and strengthen the teaching pattern of "solving problems"during daily teaching. And let the students improve their ability whilecoming up with questions and solving them.
