On Professional Self-development Of The School English Teachers In Chinese Rural Areas

With the rapid social and economic development, quality education, and further reforms in education, school English teachers in Chinese rural areas have to prepare themselves with higher quality because they are one of the most important factors that affect English teaching in Chinese rural areas. It is necessary for school English teachers in Chinese rural areas to perform teacher professional development to adapt to the constant reforms in education. In this thesis, the necessary teacher quality frames and teacher quality requirements that school English teachers in Chinese rural areas must possess nowadays are listed. The author analyses the current situation of school English teachers in Chinese rural areas based on the theory of Constructivism, Reflective Teaching and Teacher Professional Development Theory.
