Teachers’ professional development is one of the hottest topics in thefield of education at home and abroad. It is also a new demand of today’seducation reform all over the world. Follow the basic education curriculumreform. New Standard has higher and newer demands for teachers. It canimprove the standard of teachers’ professional development in China.Teachers’ professional development is also a key element to improveeducation quality and promote teachers’ professional development isnecessary task. The rural teachers’ professional development needs to followthe step of times. The rural English teachers are the third four of Englishteachers in China. As the living environment is fall behind the other area. Toimprove the rural teachers’ professional development is more important andimmediately.This research through reading and analyzing the related literature athome and abroad, combined with researchers in the Ertuoke rural area ofjunior middle school for five years ’ working experience in teaching English,the five place villages and towns of this area ’s economic conditions are vary,investigation and interview more than eighty English teachers professionaldevelopment status, find out the existing problems and shortcomings, andanalysis the causes of their existing problems, and put forward thecorresponding countermeasures.This paper is made up of four parts. It is about study introduction. PartOne is about investigate present situation. Part Two is about analysis results ofthis study and analysis the reasons of the current problems. Part Three isabout the suggestions and strategies of the reasons. Part Four is summary.
