Research On The Innovation Of University Academic Appraisal

In the West, as a kind of social system, academic appraisal has already emerged about hundreds of years accompanied by modern revolutions in science. However, in China the long history of academic tradition, and the discussion between different schools and scholars from the Spring and Autumn-Warring States Period has never been disconnected, but the indeed modern academic appraisal finally confronted with Chinese scholars between Late Ming Dynasty and Early Qing Dynasty. After the untiring exploration and improvement of forefathers, and various frustrations on the past centuries, the practice of academic appraisal goes up and down. Although considerable experience has already been accumulated, the system of academic appraisal about universities is not perfect in China. In the practice process, some negative influence came forth. Therefore, it plays a crucial role to form an advanced academic appraisal which is inherited traditions and contacted with the World, and is suitable for the development of researches in universities in China. It has become an emergency confronted with us such as how to solve the problems of current system of academic appraisal, how to encourage the innovation, competition and cooperation, and how to promote positivity of researchers.In this paper, current system of academic appraisal of universities in China was mainly investigated, and the problems occurred during the development as well as the reasons for such problems was analyzed in detail in macroscopical and microscopical view, respectively. Furthermore, use relevant theories about the transition of system as a base to study the innovation of academic appraisal of universities, analyze the path selection of innovation, and put forward my own opinions based on above analysis.
