The Fifth Plenary Session of the 19 th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China clarified the core position of persisting in innovation in the overall situation of my country’s modernization,strengthening the country with talents,and innovation-driven development.How to stimulate the creative vitality of talents is a hot issue that needs to be resolved in the new era.University teachers not only shoulder the responsibility of social service and teaching,but also shoulder the important task of scientific research.They are an indispensable component of the national scientific and technological innovation force.Stimulating the academic innovation behavior of university teachers and improving the level of scientific research in universities can inject new momentum into the realization of high-quality and high-efficiency development in our country.Therefore,exploring how to stimulate the academic innovation behavior of university teachers is the focus of the new era.The salary system is the key to stimulating the creative vitality of colleges and universities.Performance-based compensation intensity refers to the proportion of performance-related compensation in total compensation.In the past,the effect of performance-based compensation intensity on innovative behavior has not been effective.A unified conclusion.At the same time,the incentive effect of the performance-based compensation system in the university scenario is mostly focused on the theoretical framework level.This research integrates self-determination theory and expectation theory,establishes a theoretical model with performance pay intensity as the antecedent variable,academic passion as the intermediary variable,and academic innovation behavior as the result variable,and further explores the boundary effect of performance appraisal purposes.When exploring the mechanism of academic innovation behavior,taking into account that the intensity of performance pay will have a differential effect on different degrees of academic innovation behavior,it is further subdivided into breakthrough academic innovation and progressive academic innovation behavior,and academic passion is also detailed.Divided into harmonious academic passion and compulsive academic passion,to verify whether harmonious academic passion mediates the effect of performance pay intensity on breakthrough academic innovation,and whether compulsive academic passion mediates the effect of performance pay intensity on progressive academic innovation.Finally,considering the dual attributes of performance appraisal purposes,divide it into developmental and appraisal orientations,and examine whether developmental performance appraisal adjusts the relationship between performance pay intensity and harmonious academic passion,and whether appraisal performance appraisal is adjusted The relationship between performance pay intensity and compulsive academic passion.This article uses a questionnaire survey method to collect 245teachers’ data from research universities,and uses software such as SPSS22 and PROCESS 2.16 to conduct empirical tests on the data.The research results show that:(1)Performance pay intensity has a negative impact on breakthrough academic innovation behavior;(2)Performance pay intensity has a positive impact on progressive academic innovation behavior;(3)Performance pay intensity has a negative impact on harmonious academic passion(4)Performance pay intensity has a positive influence on compulsive academic passion;(5)Harmonious academic passion has a positive influence on breakthrough academic innovation;(6)Compulsive academic passion has a positive influence on progressive academic innovation;(7)Harmonious academic passion mediates the role of performance pay intensity and breakthrough academic innovation;(8)The role of compulsive academic passion mediate performance pay and progressive academic innovation;(9)Developmental performance appraisal regulates the effect of performance pay intensity on The impact of breakthrough academic innovation behavior;(10)The evaluation-based performance appraisal adjusts the impact of performance pay intensity and progressive academic innovation behavior.
