Agricultural universities and colleges take great responsibilities in the new countryside construction and specialized talents cultivation. With the globalization, populization and comprehensiveness of higher education, agricultural universities and colleges are facing increasingly intense challenges at home and abroad. Depending on talents to strengthen the power is the inevitable choice for the development of agricultural universities and colleges. The realistic and important theme related to the future of agricultural universities and colleges is how to absorb, stabilize, and cultivate more talented teaching staff, and enhance its construction and management.To solve problems of teaching staff management reform, similarities and regularities between agricultural universities and the other higher schools should be sought. Meanwhile, agricultural universities should also explore their own individualities and specialties; what's more they the successful experience of worldwide top universities should be used for reference. Based on this, this essay takes Hunan Agricultural University as the case and analyzes its teaching staff status quo as well as its problems and difficulties in the course of teaching staff management, such as the backwardness of the management concept and system, economization of teaching staff management, etc. According to these problems, this essay presents some ideas about staff management in agricultural universities and colleges from the viewpoints of its position, targets, concepts and stimulating systems of teaching staff management.
