A Study On The Deviation From The Value Orientation In China's Professional Sport

Individual, society and nation are three principal parts participating in the practices and activities in the Professional Sport (PS), and the different relations among them are determined by the different value options of the PS in the West and China. Thus forms the varying operating mechanics and results in the distinctions.In the West, PS regards individual wants as the prime value orientation, and the needs meeting of the audience in appreciation as the supreme goal. On the basis of striving to realize this goal, society and nation's respective interests in economy and appeals in politics come true. The operation of the PS makes the principal parts arrange their systems each in his business and proper place, which keeps the PS functioning smoothly and forging ahead under the circumstances of the market economy.In China, PS still follows the convention of the value orientation in the previous competitive sports, regarding national wants as the prime value orientation, and the needs meeting of the political and economic appeals in the management organization as the supreme goal. The excessive prominence of the national interests leads to the ignorance of the just interests of the individual and society. The relations in interests among the three formed by the PS deviates from the law of the development in market economy, and sinks into predicament for development, hard to gain the motive force actually from the market.This dissertation is studied by adopting documents, specialists visiting and comparative methods, and results show as bellows:(1)PS is the product of the social division of labor and market economy, and its important organizational systems are club system and league system. PS follows the market economic principles of"demand determining supply, and consumption determining production".(2) The principal parts of PS in practices are of pluralism, and its functions are diversified, which results in the pluralism of PS. The core value of PS lies in the satisfaction of the needs of the audience in appreciation, and the value orientation of the PS lies in the satisfaction of the needs of the audience's appreciation in entertainment.(3) The professionalism of PS in China is the great efforts made by the original system for seeking the source of the new resource, so PS in China will inevitably follows the convention of the value orientation for winning honor for homeland in China sport and China competitive sports.(4)Therefore, the logic of the development of PS is first production and then market, and supply determining demand, different from the law of the development in market economy;the deviation of the value orientation results in the predicament for the development of PS.(5) The problems concerning the predicament for the development of PS can be eliminated only through the comprehensive re-establishment of the value orientation of PS in China.(6) The awakening and growth in strength in society and individual, and the definitude and transformation of the functions in nation are important factors for promoting the re-establishment of the value orientation of PS in China, among which the transformation of the functions in nation is the key to the re-establishment of the value orientation of PS in China.
