The Study Of Present Situation And Strategies About Ping-pong Selective Event Course In Universities In Jiangsu Province

Under the instruction of"Health First, Life Sports Education", Sports Selective Event Course, as a new sports-teaching pattern, has appeared for nearly 20 years. It has been developed comprehensively only 10 years in Jiangsu Province. This paper adopts questionnaires, documents and interviews experts to study the development of ping-pong selective event course; and it explores and analyses this course in universities and colleges in Jiangsu Province. The findings are the followings. First, college students like ping-pong selective event course very much. Second, students'basic skills in ping-pong are not so good; some universities and colleges are lack of teaching hours and there are too many students in one selective event class. Third, there are three teaching patterns in ping-pong selective event course: three-stages model, two– grades - participation system, class in-class out combination. Fourth, there is no centralized teaching materials for ping-pong selective event course in teaching so teachers in practice themselves have to select materials according to their own teaching needs. Fifth, the studying evaluation mainly includes two aspects: theory and practice. In practice, the achievements in techniques are the key points. Sixth, most teachers who teach this course now are ones who majored in other sports events, so their teaching faculties in this field should be improved. Seventh, the factors of court facilities affect the advancement of ping-pong selective event course now.
