Backhand chop is an indispensable tactic that is being used in ping-pong and tennis. Wining factors in ping-pong matches are the quickness, swirl, accuracy, relentless and change, while in tennis, the wining factors are comprehensiveness, accuracy, relentless, looting and change. It is hard to fully master the diverse ways of playing table tennis. However, it is needed for an elite athlete to be capable of dealing with various ways of playing table tennis. As a competitive sport with a net in the middle, the qualities needed are not only the flexible tactics, strong will, healthy body and good psychology but the comprehensive skills that athletes should be in possess of. Based on the comprehensive skills, the players can show their flexible tactics to lay good foundation for their good psychology. This paper takes the backhand chop as an example, gets the kinematical data by using the three-dimensional photography of ping-pong and tennis to analyze the indexes of each joints and compares the data by using the knowledge of sports biomechanics and exercise anatomy, aiming at finding out the differences and similarities of backhand chop between ping-pong and tennis to provide the teaching and training of backhand chop in ping-pong and tennis with theory and reference and find out the key of backhand chop by comparison so that the mutual interference and emergence of sport injuries can be avoided. Research results show that kinematical indexes are different when the players use the backhand chop in ping-pong and tennis. In the process of the hitting, the action is more flexible, players are more autonomous and the joints are more immobilized when backhand chop is used in ping-pong than in tennis. When it comes to the technological side, the backhand chop in the table tennis relies on the waist’s and leg’s pedal to swivel, bar center’s transfer and the fulfillment of the actions of the wrist and the forearms while the backhand chop in tennis needs to depend on the process of swing the racket and turning around to achieve the expected results. Suggestions: During the teaching and training in ping-pong and tennis, it is necessary to strengthen the power and coordination of the joints of each part of the body to increase the transferring effect of momentum and avoid the cross-training of the two events.
