Facing the challenge of the 21st century, good scientific literacy is necessary for everyone and representative a person's basic capacity. The key educational period is junior high school stage. As an important subject in the natural science, Physics have an important function to the mankind. It is a strong representative and visible predominance course in training student's science literacy. As a main teaching tool, textbooks not only embody the scientific of physics, but also junior high school student's intellect. As the most importance, the aim of textbooks is scientific literacy. Therefore in the period of reformation, it's necessary for us to know how to compile and evaluate textbooks.On the basis of elaborating the definition and connotation of scientific literacy, in allusion to our country educational goals and junior middle school students'characteristic, according to the evaluation index system established by"2061 project", the article establishes second class indexes and grade points to adapt to our country physics textbooks. According to the index system, the article grades three textbooks to analyze and provide suggestion to all indexes in detail. For the objectivity of the result and the applicability of second class indexes, 5 junior high school physical teachers join this task; the grade difference is light through statistical method, proving evidence to the effective of the grade.From the evaluation result, we discover the grade of two indexes is lower. One is"taking account of student ideas"and the other is"promoting students'thinking about phenomenon, experiences and knowledge". The textbooks should create problem scenes to spur students ponder. Generally speaking, the problem is usually produced in concrete scenes, marvelous phenomenon, strange things, inconsistent ideas and problem that cannot be solved in practice and theory .Three textbooks don't provide enough original problem.Students'ideas which have not excavated in further isn't compared with scientific concepts in the three textbooks. Therefore, students don't give up their ideas forwardly to construct accurate concepts.For the new curriculum criterion and the innovation of the evaluation system of science teaching, the author provide some new thoughts in the link of a concrete topic and put forward some constructive suggestions to the evaluation and compilation of physical textbooks in the future.
