As for Senior English Teaching(SET), teachers often have to teach in the big class,where the students` English levels are rather different, then it is difficult for the teachers to satisfy the individual need of each student, so teachers always fail to shift the students` activities fully, and all these factors make it not easy to improve the students` English levels. Being a teacher of Senior English, the writer tries to put the SA Theory into the Preparation Link , in order to form the students`SA abilities and strenghthen their confidence in studying English. Under the situation of"Learning first, teaching later",the writer hopes that the students can make some progress and enhance their English levels by themselves positively. This article discusses how to develop the students` SA ability and improve their English levels through the practice of making use of SA Theory in the Preparation Link of the class.Besides, the writer uses such research methods as questionnaire and interview to collect some data. The analysis of the data shows that the students` English levels are indeed enhanced to a certaint degree, but not for all the students, which indicates the work of forming students` SA abilities can`t be done in a short period, teachers should do the job in their daily teaching step by step.
