Objective: To explore obsessive-compulsive phenomenon in primary school students, andthe relation with parental rearing patterns.Method: 869 primary school students aged 14.62±1.04 year-old(49.48%male)weremeasured with Leyton Obsessional Inventory -Child Version (LOI-CV) and EMBU.Result: Total yes/no score of LOI-CV: male 11.17±3.24,female 10.20±3.23.interferingscore:male 16.29±8.79,female 12.80±7.81.The total yes/no score of student of grade twowas higher than other grades, especially in cleanliness and tidiness (P<0.05). Theinterfering score of lucky number of boys of grade two was higher than others (P<0.05).The screening out ratio of obsessive-compulsive symptoms was 29.1%, with higher ratioin male than female (p<0.05), the ratio of three grades and male and female was gradetwo>grade three>grade one. There was no difference between different sexs in same grade.And there was no difference between only child and non-only child too. The yes/no score oflucky number of non-only child is higher than only child(P<0.05), the interfering ofchecking and repetition in both male and female non-only child were higher than only childof same sex (P<0.05). The total yes/no score and interfering score of LOI-CV positivecorrection with FF2(punishment of father), FF3(over intervention of father), FF6(overprotection of father), MF2(over intervention and over protection of mother), MF3 (rejectionof mother), MF4(punishment of mother)(p<0.01).The score of over intervention and overprotection of both parents of the group of obsessive-compulsive phenomenon was higherthan the normal group.The score of over intervention and over protection of both parents,punishment of father of the group of obsessive-compulsive phenomenon in male thanfemale. The score of over intervention and over protection, emotional support andunderstanding of father of the group of obsessive-compulsive phenomenon in female thanmale.Conclusion: Obsessive-compulsive experience are common in primary schoolstudents.The total screening out ratio of obsessive-compulsive phenomenon was29.1%,with higher ratio in male, with highest ratio in grade two.there was differencebetween only child and non-only child in the depth of obsessive-compulsive phenomenon. The pattern of parental rearing has great effect on turning and depth ofobsessive-compulsive phenomenon, so parents should pay more positive attention on theirchildren.
