Teaching is one of the professions under greatest pressure. When the pressure increases and teachers can't cope with it successfully, teacher burnout will be engendered. Wuxi Ganlu School is a nine-year coherent school, as the foundational education reform and new curriculum reform are carrying out, acting as the propellant and undertaker of new curriculum reform, teachers' burnout and their living and developmental situation gradually become the attention focus of school improvement.This study based on the investigation of 133 teachers of Wuxi Ganlu School. The Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) and SPSS 13.0 programs were used to analyze all the data. The results showed that:(1) The level of teacher burnout in Wuxi Ganlu School is nearly serious. It shows different from the three dimensions of MBI: teachers' emotional exhaustion is outstanding while depersonalization is medium and lack of personal accomplishment is also serious.(2) There are differences among demographic variables in teacher burnout. The teachers of different sex, academic have not remarkable difference on teacher burnout. While the teachers of different age, teaching section, subject, working age and the titles of technical posts are significantly different on teacher burnout.(3) There is significant difference between middle and primary teaching sections in nine-year coherent school in general and the three dimensions of teacher burnout. The standard of burnout of middle teaching section is much higher than primary teaching section. Meanwhile, the difference among different subject, age and working age in the two teaching sections is significant. But not between different sex and academic.On the basis of the above conclusion, the present research puts forward some suggestions that eliminate the teacher burnout on society, school and personage.
