| The regulations on the development of vocational education issued by the State Council explicitly illustrates that development of vocational education is the specific action to carry out strategies of strengthening the nation through sci-tech education and human resources development, the great measure to solve the problem issues in agriculture, rural communities and farmers, the striving force for employment and re-employment, and an approach to upgrading the whole country strength, building harmonious society and sustainable & coordinative development of education. Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region ( Ningxia in brief below) is located in the border region of northwest China, fragile in ecological environment. Forestry is playing an important role not only in the local social and economic development but also for the construction of the ecological security of the whole country. Lack of talents, especially sort of vocational and professional talents has to a considerable extent constrained the development of forestry in Ningxia.The thesis takes Ningxia Forestry School as a specific case to study the problems in the development. It has been found that the school is confronted with competitiveness from other schools in enrolling students, old fashioned specialty arrangement, unfitness of education models and philosophies to the social and market requirements as well as the weakness in practical teaching. Study also describes some measures adopted by Ningxia Forestry School to deal with the problems confronted, a foundation for further thinking and probing the strategies for the whole middle-grade vocational education of forestry.On the basis of case study, an overall development strategies and measures are suggested for middle vocational education of forestry in Ningxia. Modern concept and ideas in development of vocational education is the priority followed by ten strategies as specifics: i) speeding up the reform of education to cultivate competency competitive talents; ii) strengthening program development and discipline construction; iii) paying extremely importance to consolidating school through attracting quality talents and staff for a better team of teachers; iv) carrying out education approach combing teaching, practice and research together; v) strengthening collaboration with other colleges for a flexible schooling; vi) reforming interior management system; vii) incorporating correspondent education with vocational education; viii) strengthening publicity and employment guidance; ix) broadening funding collection approach; x) strengthening theoretic research in middle–grade vocational education... |
