With the new course reform being carried out, students are required to change their study methods from accepting to discovering. This kind of transformation which think much of students' main body status in teaching, obviously increase the importance of developing their awareness of problems. According to author's questionnaires, students' awareness of problem is at the weak condition. Therefore, how to train students' awareness of problem and promote the transformation of studying style in teaching is geography teacher's major issue. Inquiry learning putted forward in this curriculum reform is taken the question as the central, and is process including putting forward questions, analyzing questions, solving questions, and is an efficient approach cultivating students' awareness of problem. Senior geography textbook by hunan education press compiled according to the geography new course standard extremely attach weight to cultivate the students' ability to inquire questions and the awareness of problem in high schools. Therefore, this paper will focus on how to use the senior geography textbook by hunan education press to develop inquiry learning for cultivating the students' awareness of problem.This paper is divided into four parts:The first part, the basic summary of awareness of problem is mainly introduced andresearch results to the awareness of problem are narrated at home and abroad;The second part, the present situation of awareness of problem in geography understood through the questionnaire survey in high schools is not optimistic, and the reasons are analyzed;The third part, developing the inquiry learning to cultivate the students' awareness of problem is important, which is showed from the inquiry learning is an effective way in cultivating the students' awareness of problem and the requirements of new lesson changes; The fourth part, the concrete strategies of developing the inquiry learning to cultivate the students' question consciousness are proposed according to the investigation results and taking senior geography textbook by hunan education press as materials.
