"Cultivating the necessary geographical literacy of modern citizens" has become the core concept of curriculum and textbook design.Nowadays,many countries in the world regard improving national quality as a basic strategy to improve the level of human resources and enhance the comprehensive strength of the country.In order to cope with this trend,China needs to complete the major educational task of comprehensively promoting the implementation of quality education and deepening the comprehensive reform of education.At present,most of the research on geography literacy is aimed at senior high school geography,while the research on junior high school geography literacy is relatively few,and some junior high school geography teachers are not graduates of geography majors,and they do not understand junior high school geography literacy.The "activity" column of the geography textbook for junior high school of Hunan Education Press accounts for a large proportion in the whole content of the textbook.It has the function of guiding students to use,derive and review to consolidate geographical knowledge and skills,and develop students’ geographical literacy.So how to use the "activity" column of geography textbooks to cultivate students’ geographical literacy in the process of formulating teaching strategies has become the research direction of this paper.The author has determined the research direction and ideas by consulting the journals and papers on the "activities" column,"geographical literacy" and "teaching strategies" of geography textbooks,and drawing on the relevant research of predecessors.The number,type and geographical literacy of the "activity" column in the textbook are statistically analyzed,and the characteristics of the "activity" column in the geography textbook for junior high school of Hunan Education Press are summarized.By using the methods of questionnaire and interview,some junior high school geography teachers and students were selected as the survey objects to carry out the investigation and research on the influence of the "activity" column of the junior high school geography textbook of Hunan Education Edition on the cultivation of junior high school students’ geographical literacy.Finally,the author puts forward teaching strategies and analyzes them with classroom teaching cases.At the same time,the author draws a conclusion by taking the geography teaching of two classes taught by the author as an example.This paper consists of the following six parts:The first part: mainly elaborates the research background,research status at home and abroad,research significance,research methods and technical routes of geographical literacy and teaching strategies in the "activities" column of geographical textbooks.The second part mainly defines the concept of "activity" column and geographical literacy,and puts forward relevant theoretical basis.The third part: sort out and analyze the number and geographical literacy of the "activity" column in the geography textbook for junior high school of Hunan Education Press,summarize the types of the "activity" column in the geography textbook for junior high school of Hunan Education Press and make statistics on the type of the "activity" column.The fourth part is to survey some junior high school geography teachers with the method of questionnaire and obtain data about the influence of the "activity" column of the junior high school geography textbook of Hunan Education Edition on the cultivation of junior high school students’ geographical literacy;Through the interview method,we can understand the students’ understanding of the "activity" column of the geography textbook,the cognition of the geographical literacy and the harvest of the "activity" column after learning,and draw the conclusion that the "activity" column of the geography textbook for junior middle school students of Hunan Education Press has an effective impact on the cultivation of the geographical literacy of junior middle school students.Part Ⅴ: Propose the teaching design principle of using the "activity" column of the geography textbook for junior high school of Hunan Education Press to cultivate students’ geographical literacy,select a teaching design in the classroom teaching as a case,and put forward the teaching strategy of cultivating students’ geographical literacy in the "activity" column of the geography textbook for junior high school of Hunan Education Press by analyzing the contents of three links: pre-class preparation,classroom teaching implementation process and after-class reflection,The feasibility of the teaching strategy is empirically studied by taking the geography teaching of two classes as an example.The sixth part: draw the research conclusion of this paper: First,the "activity" column in the geography textbook for junior high school of Hunan Education Press has an effective impact on the cultivation of junior high school students’ geographical literacy.The application of the "activity" column in the textbook should be strengthened.Second,using the "activity" column of the textbook to cultivate students’ geographical literacy should be reflected in the pre-class preparation stage,the classroom teaching stage and the post-class reflection stage.
