Yan Zhitui's Yan's Family Precepts is praised as the originator of Chinese family precepts .The book is natural and easy to be understood, and it spreads far and wide.Yan's Family Precepts contain profound thoughts of home education, which is not only the summary of Yan's family and Yan Zhitui's personal experience but also the guidance of his descendants' ways to conduct themselves in society. Yan Zhitui's home education thoughts are mainly contained in his Yan's Family Precepts. Through the analysis to the existing cultural heritages, the author find that the research on his children home education thoughts is a little weak, so Yan Zhitui's children home education thoughts contained in his Yan's Family Precepts become the author's research object.In this paper, the author uses the method of literature, looking up and using many ancient books, monographs, articles, and carefully making reference to some official and private websites, to deeply study Yan Zhitui's children family education thoughts.The author places Yan Zhitui's children family education thoughts at a broader ideological context. From these aspects of ancient Chinese family education tradition, the Yan Family Chuan home to Confucianism, the popular atmosphere of family study and family education that the people paid wide attention in the Wei, Jin and the Southern and Northern Dynasties, the author discusses science and correct of Yan Zhitui's children family education thoughts with the help of psychology, education, sociology. The author compares Yan Zhitui's children family education thoughts with the education thoughts of his predecessors, such as Confucius, Jia Yi, Liu Xiang, Dong Zhongshu, Zhang Hua and others in order to show clearer and more comprehensive picture that Yan Zhitui's children family education thoughts developed formatted. The author also compares the "flogging" in Yan Zhitui children family education thoughts with the British educator Lockerbie's such view, in order to straightforward display Yan Zhitui's children family education viewpointThis paper is divided into four parts. Exordium describes the reason of the topic chosen by the author, research methods and outlines the current study situation. The first chapter briefly describes the historical background and writing purposes of "Yan's Family Precepts", and discusses Yan Zhitui's children family (?)ducation thoughts from three aspects, namely, the importance of children family education, the contents of children family education and children family education principles and methods. Using comparative study method from the eight aspects, the second chapter does brief comments on Yan Zhitui's children family education thoughts: expectant and early education thoughts, exemplary parents, corporal punishment of children, Yan Zhitui's progress skill concepts, the normative language education, human nature theory of "Three Grades", talent concept, and dialectical learning concept. The third chapter analyzes the value of Yan Zhitui's children family education thoughts to contemporary society from three aspects, namely, correct and appropriate attitude to children family education, comprehensive and concrete education contents, and scientific and reasonable methods in children family education.
