In the textbook of high school chemistry, the content of "structures of matter and the periodic law of elements" is hard to compile but also very important. It becomes the focus of research.This research cuts-in the idea on the development of students' Science Literacy, which instructed by curriculum reform and take the clue of scientific knowledge, scientific means and scientific investigate ability, scientific attitude, scientific spirit and STS education. The author presents a model. The model analyzes the chemical books from four aspects, which are aim, knowledge system, exhibiting ways and representative contents. The author comparatively study "structures of matter and the periodic law of elements" in the books of China, Australia and Canada. Conclude that:The idea, contents and form of new textbooks in our country all follow the tide of the curriculum reform all over the world. And also embody the choice of educational tactic of our country: The book keep to the rule of three-orders-combined and the cognitive process of screw; knowledge system is comprehensive, the level of organization joint international level come true; the form of book is vivid, embody the tenet of development of students.But there are also some questions need deeply studied: elective learning of modules books; reality of scientific investigation; the education of scientific ration.
