Many new challenges and opportunities are beckoning because of "Knowledge-based Economy",so all countries in the world agree that new teaching methods,especially Inquiry teaching methods,are the key point to train the high-quality personnel with innovative ideas.In today's china, Inquiry teaching methods are held in high regard. Inquiry teaching methods are very useful in the changing of student's learning method and teacher's teaching method,and helpful in Enhancing students' all-around qualities.The study of Inquiry teaching in history class is at the same time with the reform of the curriculum.It has yielded substantial results. However it is not mature not only in theory but also in practice, there are some problems need to be solved,and there are some experiences need to be generalized.The purpose of this paper is to study how the Inquiry teaching method can be used in history class of senior high school , both in theory and practice.This paper elaborates on the application of Inquiry teaching method in history class of senior high school.It is made up of four parts: part one,the cognition of Inquiry teaching through studying it's concept and connotation.Part two,the feasibility and significance of Inquiry teaching in senior high school history class. Part three, solving the specific problems of Inquiry teaching in history class in practice,for example:how to make instructional design of Inquiry teaching in history class, how to define the purpose of Inquiry teaching in history class.exploring the effective way to practise the Inquiry teaching in history class,how to solve the problem of evaluation.so as to provide some useful experiences for other senior high school history teachers. part four,the reflections on the problems that occurred in Inquiry teaching of senior high school history class.
