The Problems And Solutions Of College Aesthetic Education

Since the 20th century, one of the trend of our society is the more and more serious crisis both in the human spirit ad human existence. So what the modern society calls for is the state of aesthetic standards. Now more and more concerns is put on people's metal world. Recently, with the development of quality education, esp. from 1999, the aesthetic education is on the fundamental principle of our education, we have made much progress in our college aesthetic education and much success has been reached. But from the point of the current changing society and economy, we should realize that we still have a long way to go. The purpose of this thesis is to have a thorough discussion on the causes of the current problems in college aesthetic education and at the same time try to find solutions to these problems.There are 5 parts in this thesis, the preface and 4 chapters. In the preface, I mainly discuss the significance of college aesthetic education, its present situation and the methods used in this study.The first chapter is called "the connotation of college aesthetic education and the introduction of college aesthetic education". From its connotation and its characters, we know that it is a means to achieve the purpose of our education. Its theoretical bases are aesthetic, pedagogy and psychology. It has a close relationship with moral education but not simply a part of moral education; it is based on art education but not art education either. Its direct purpose is to give the students an artistic accomplishment, and its ultimate goal is to reach the students' overall development. Besides the general qualities of aesthetic education, it has a wider freedom, a strong personality, and a distinctive era. When comes to the history of college aesthetic education, we know it mainly has three stages: the initiate stage, the contending stage and the vitality stage. Although we now have a better understanding about its importance, its improved situation and the progress we have made, there still exists some problemsIn the second chapter, which is called "the current problems in college aesthetic education", I mainly list some of the problems in college aesthetic education, such as, not enough attention, lack of efficient system, short of teachers and deficient in funds.The third chapter, "the causes of the problems existed in college aesthetic education", deals with two aspects—the inner and outer causes. The inner causes include not realizing the importance of college aesthetic education, the equivalence between moral education and aesthetic education, the equality between art education and aesthetic education. The ill effect of public culture is its outer cause.The fourth chapter is "the solutions to the problems". If we want to improve the current situation, firstly, we should make our purpose clear, improve our system, pay much attention to its importance, foster a college aesthetic educational concept, make further study of the aesthetic theory, perfect the management regulations in college, and thus form a system supported and guaranteed by college aesthetic education. Secondly, we should ensure the carrying out of the basic curriculum in the college aesthetic education, strengthen art courses, embody college aesthetic education via ordinary courses, foster a campus culture and form a perfect curriculum system. Thirdly, we should strengthen our artistic accomplishment, cultivate our artistic attitude, establish our artistic consciousness and improve our artistic ability, so that we can achieve our ultimate goal.
