The generating teaching, a new teaching thought (also a teaching method), is proposed in the new curriculum based on the opposition to the disadvantages in traditional teaching. And it has significances for the traditional teaching in overcoming the mechanism, tediousness and stereotype. Based on the survey of some kinds of practical form in present classroom-teaching, the analysis of the development of teaching design and the present situation of generating teaching, this study considers on why it generates, what it generates and how it generates.The main contents are following.To explain why it generates, the author presents the theoretical basis of generating teaching in the first section. The proposal of generating teaching is not fictitious, but based on diagnosis and epistemology, also psychology and theory of knowledge.To show what it generates, in the second and third section the author analyses the connotation, characteristics and inherent mechanism of generating teaching. About the connotation, from the view of student, generation is the transcendence and development of acceptance, and from the view of teacher, it is the important supplement and correction of presuppose. About the characteristics, it not only contains the teaching features of dynamics, opening, procedure and creativity, but the generating features of integration, naturalism and gradualness. About the inherent mechanism, from the perspective of informatics, the learning process is a generating new information process by the interaction of inner and outer information. The generative information becomes the individual generative knowledge by internalization, brings the generative resource by externalization, and then initiates the generating teaching; from the perspective of teaching process, the whole process is open and dynamic, and it adjusts continuously from the presuppose before class to the adjustment in class and from the presuppose of the new objective to the readjustment.And to explain how it generates, in the fourth and fifth section the author presents the generating teaching design and some cases. The idea of generating teaching design contains the teaching design of learning process, flexibility, dynamics and knowledge significance. And the design thought of generating teaching includes the generating design of teaching goal, teaching content, teaching method, teaching situation, teaching process and teaching evaluation.
