Health is the greatest wealth for human being while the school is the ideal location for health promotion. Therefore the function of education must be exerted in order to translate health into wealth in our daily life. However the health education in schools does not seem to be enough. We should not only impart the healthy knowledge and skills , but also try to provide a safe and harmonious environment for students and teachers, and adopt effective intervention method to improve the general health standard of the students and the teachers. Therefore, in order to setup the health promoting school, a series of policies, strategies, and measures must be established and carried out, including manpower, material resources, organization, and outlay. Hereby, the establishment of health promoting school is a comprehensive project. It requires the support of the government and the participation of students, teachers and even the whole society.Currently, some of the development of the health promotion remain in the sermon and the form which was not carried out in the daily life of the teachers and students. The main cause is that it can not solve the actual problems, which the teachers and the students face. It does not have much actual significance when it can not promote the teachers and the students' own health development.This thesis is based on the author's work experience as the director of the health promotion of Jintian Elementary school and her understanding of developing the health promotion of the elementary and middle schools in Luohu District, Shenzhen. It first reveals the actual problems in setting up health promotion schools, and discusses some strategies to solve the problems after summing up the development of "health promoting school" of her own and analyzing lessons from research achievement.The main content of the thesis is divided into three parts:The first part mainly defines the related concept and put the meaning, significance, and characteristic of health promotion into thorough elaboration.The second part points out the main problems which exist in the current health promotion: formalism, narrow content, empiricism, knowing and doing disjointed, and analyzes the in-depth reason which caused these problems. The third part proposes the Countermeasures to solve the problems which exist in the current health promotion: The establishment of the prompting mechanism develops teacher's independent initiative; The construction of the healthy school research structure positively discusses the healthy class teaching; The innovation of the health promotion activity pattern improves the quality of the health promotion; The approach to perfect health promotion appraisal system promotes the health growth of the teachers and students; The construction of beneficial health promotion school culture provides the cultural support for health promotion.
