A Study For The Administration Of "the Cheung Kong Scholars Programme"

The Cheung Kong Scholars Programme was jointly established by China's Ministry of Education and the Li Ka Shing Foundation to raise the competitiveness of China's higher education in 1998, to groom outstanding talent and promote the country's development. Its main objective is to further improve China's standard of education and intellectual competitiveness through the training of the country's best and brightest young minds. The programme which includes the chairs of special appointed professors, the chairs of lecturers and Cheung Kong Achievement Award is also aimed at attracting and selecting outstanding young and middle-aged scholars, both with the domestic and foreign Chinese outstanding person,and helping them become world-class academic leaders so as to attain and surpass or maintain the advanced world levels in their disciplines.
