Modeling For Online Writing

With the development of ICT, Internet has become one of the most popular tools for people to communicate and share ideas, and even more and more primary schools begin to use webs to teach different courses. It is the right time for writing, one of the most suitable courses that can take the advantage of Internet, to be taught by online model.This paper summarizes the theoretical bases of teaching writing online, and analyzes the possibility of Modeling for Online Writing Environment on the basis of the research online education. It attempts to construct a simplified and practical writing model for teachers to use in their writing instruction, which will combine the advantages of the traditional teaching methods and online writing without being partial to any side.The prevalence of much social software made it possible to construct an easy handling and effective model for online writing instruction. This paper provides detailed information on how to use FreemindMap,WIKI,BLOG to support online writing instruction, including the features of these software, setup procedures and how to set for writing instruction purposes. It may add a new perspective to see online writing instruction, and meanwhile construct a new model for it.The most important three stages of writing are designing, writing and modification, and publishing. Traditional writing instruction leaves all the three stages to be students' personal behaviors that are not monitoring by the teachers or other people, which make students feel writing is nothing so important. The online writing model established here make designing, writing and modification and publishing are all in a process that being pained attention. In designing stage, team members exchange their ideas on the topic; in writing and modification stage, they get peer feedback and refine their writing; in publishing stage, the read each other's works. For those students who would like to publish their writing results on the internet, this model will be more helpful, because they will get more readers. Not only classmates and teachers, but also parents, friends or anyone who is interested in the topic will read their works,which make the students be more serious in designing and writing, and the expanding of the reading group will motivate them to write more intentionally and actively. So it will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of writing instruction by using this model.
