Honesty and trustworthiness is a traditional merit of Chinese, and at present, it is one of the basic moral norms in our society. With the development of the socialist market economy, credibility has become an important value, as well as the code of conduct that people must follow in their social activities and economic contacts.As a special group, ethnic minority college students will play unique roles in building our country in the future. Their majors and moral qualities will have an impact on the unity of our various nationalities, the good order of our society, and the construction of modernization in border areas. Even, they will affect the future and destiny of our nation. Credibility is a fundamental demand for them to do things and treat people, a basic element to form good moralities and an elementary premise to better their own personalities. As a result, cultivating credibility of ethnic minority college students has great importance, such as constructing the social credibility system, improving the whole social credibility level, promoting the economy of Xinjiang (especially of southern Xinjiang), speeding all-round development of the society, advancing the new socialist countryside construction, and building a socialist harmonious society.The author studied honesty education of ethnic minority college students in the following aspects: the meaning of credibility and honesty education, the importance of honesty education, some indications of credibility crisis in ethnic minority colleges, the reasons for lacking honesty and credibility, and as well as some educational Countermeasures. This paper includes five parts:Part one is an introduction of the importance of choosing the topic, current researches, researching methods and related definitions.Part two centered on a general theory of honesty and credibility, which gave a deep analysis of the meaning of "honesty", "faith", "credibility" and "honesty education".Part three is about the practical importance of honesty education of ethnic minority college students in Xinjiang. In this part, the author discussed that honesty education not only was the demand of the time and reality, but also the need of passing on virtues, developing a harmonious society and reviving the nation. Meanwhile, the effects of honesty education in bettering the personalities of the students were also mentioned in this part.Part four described the present situations of credibility of ethnic minority college students in southern Xinjiang. According to some of these students' behaviors of lacking credibility, the author analyzed the present situations. Based on this, he also reasoned why the credibility crisis existed from the environmental influence of society, family and as well as their own. Part five emphasized on promoting honesty education of ethnic minority college students in Xinjiang, and provided some specific Countermeasures, such as leading by "eight Honors and eight Disgraces", absorbing national excellent cultures, perfect family honesty education environment and establish an evaluating system of honesty and credibility of ethnic minority students.
