Metacognition, proposed in 1976 by Flavell, the famous US psychologist, is about each individual's cognition and regulation of his or her own Cognitive Process. Its relative reseach has become a hot spot in the fields of psychology, pedagogy etc. However, after studying about 4200 papers related to Martial Arts, the author finds that the research of Metacognition strategies applied in Tai Ji Quan (Chinese shadow boxing) training has not even started. This research, based on Metacognition Theory and the characteristics of tai ji quan skills, maintains that Metacognition measures generate impact on Wushu routines, thus initiating the research of this field. The research objects are 40 students of 4 classes from Guangdong's institutions higher learning. The experiment is based on 24-Form Tai Ji Quan, with all the students divided into two groups at random, the testee group and the comparison group, and the two groups share the same gender ratio. In the experiment, the testee group receives Metacognition training, and they are monitored under the Metacognition training questions; the comparison group is trained with regular teaching methods, with effective control of irrelevantvariables. After the experiment, the data collected are processed statistically with SPSS11.5 statistics software and significance testing is conducted. Comparison and analysis are conducted in four aspects. Firstly, analysis and discussion of performance features of both the testee group and the comparison group before the experiment, which includes: A. general comparison concerning RE. marks and Metacognition ability of both the testee group and the comparison group before the experiment; B. group comparison of high and low Metacognition group's P.E. marks and Metacognition ability for both the testee group and the comparison group before the experiment. Secondly, general difference comparison of both the testee group and the comparison group's RE. marks and Metacognition ability before and after the experiment, which includes: A. longitudinal comparison of both the testee group and the comparison group's Metacognition ability before and after the experiment; B. parallel comparison of both the testee group and the comparison group's RE. marks and Metacognition ability before and after the experiment. Thirdly, a comtrast of the difference of the testee group and the comparison group's RE. marks and Metacognition ability, which includes: A. longitudinal comparison of the testee group's high and low Metacognition ability before and after the experiment; B. parallel comparison of the comparison group's high and low Metacognition ability before and after the experiment. Finally, parallel comparison of the comparison group and the high and low Metacognition ability before and after the experiment. The research indicates that: 1. Metacognition theory has crucial instructing values in the RE. field; 2. Whether for the high Metacognition group and the low Metacognition group, the correct guidance and Metacognition training have tremendous effects for Tai Ji Quan, expecialy the greater influence of the hign Metacognition group; 3. the research also finds out that Metacognition takes place in the Metacognition training. Therefore, we draw the following conclusion: Metacognition exists everywhere, which is important and high-class, is related to the efficiency of human Metacognition leaning; with the methods of Metacognition, the learners' intellectual potential for the improvement of the learners can be explored, thus providing the key to the improvement of the learners' improvement of learning ability.
