As human society entered the new information age, the dependence of information technology and information industries to modern scientific and technological progress and socio-economic development is more and more observable, the information literacy and information literacy education has increasingly become a hot issue.College students are the main force for building the information potential, their information profound impact on the level of our information-based society. Strengthening information literacy education in today's information age is the new requirements for personnel training, and building a good information literacy education platform is the key to this request. Therefore, we focus on the construction of information literacy education platform to start the study.This article constitutes by four chapters, the first chapter briefly introduces the concept of information literacy and it's importance for college students. Chapter II analyzes the status and the problems of the information literacy in higher education in China. For chapter III, references to the United States information literacy education experience, explores the platform construction of information literacy education platform for our country: proposed that, through enhancing information literacy education "software" platform, enhance the infrastructure of information literacy education , make full use of the teach superiority on the information literacy education platform, formulate the standards and goals for information literacy education, strengthen the role of the platform to perfect the information literacy education. Chapter IV makes analysis on advantages and disadvantages of information literacy education in the university libraries and proposed that: accelerate the modernization of libraries, rebuild the library service, strengthen teaching reform and deep-level information services, promote various propaganda activity for information, give prominence to the cooperation to the schools and departments, and further strengthen the role of the library playing in the information literacy education platform, thereby effectively improve the ability of college students, enabling them to meet the information society, and become the main agent to China's science and technology, economic development.In this article, we choose three different types of college students to do the information literacy survey to truly reflect the current students information literacy, compare to the previous similar research, this study has been more improved, the analysis to the overall evaluation of the existing classification had been expounded. Meanwhile taking the Xiamen University Library as an example, to see the whole picture abreast of the fact, and reflect college information literacy education profile, and empirical research on the basis of learn from the experience of the United States, to explore theoretical and practical innovations, from the status of information literacy in our country, propose several proposal to the construction of China's information literacy education platform. Surely it has the better practical significance.
