The Sociology Study On The Internet Addiction Of The University Students

The Internet influences our lives and the subsistence deeply, while the beings enjoy its varied advantages, the malpractice attached to the improper use also gradually demonstrates. The addiction is paid attention primarily. The addiction could be definited as: The dependent feeling to the internet that caused by bad or excessive usage, which does harmful to the individual in aspects, such as study, work, communication, health and so on.With the movement of advanced education network, the Internet has become a part in university students'daily lives. The research on Internet addiction shows that the college students are the high-risk vulnerability crowd. This phenomenon exists in varying degree in the universities, which has negative influence to the health of university students.Taking the partial college students in Jilin Province as the object of study, this dissertation investigates the behaviors and the addiction surrounding the Internet, with forms of questionnaire, interview, and curriculum seminar.The investigation showed that the majority of students could use the network scientifically and reasonably, and take control on their behaviors as well as promote their own studies and the communication, they had the good network quality and the information quality. But 22.6% university students showed their addicted phenomenon or the possibility to be, these students depended on the network and satisfied themselves with it. They got the sense of joy and achievement by surfing in Internet, which made their surf behavior out of control, influenced their studies and health negatively.According to the analysis on the Internet addiction, we thought the factors are complex. We describe the reasons in two sides: one is the intrinsic factor, including the individual psychological feature, psychological contradictory and self-demand, etc. The other is the external factor, including social environment, school atmosphere, home education, and characteristic of network as well. Due to the Internet which could satisfy the college students with more variety and multi-layer demands than the real world, they are addicted in. Among the factors, their intrinsic factor is basic, and the social, school, home environment and the network characteristic are the additional causes. Focusing on the addiction phenomenon, we should build up the systematic preventable system with the social attention, governmental emphasis, family supporting, university managing and students participating with the above factors unified, we must guard against the addiction from the education, the management and the guides by establishing a nice environment. In order to foster the mature talent college students, we should pay more attention to the university education of helping the students to form high network quality and to sharpen their communication abilities; Also should we strengthen the management to monitor their surfing habits, guide them positively through activating campus culture and performing the team practice; Aiming at the realization of their identity and socialization ultimately, we need to satisfy their mutli-level and multi-layer requires comprehensively.
