| The construction of modern universities is the core work of higher education in China.In this way,the most important task of this work is how to choose excellent the universities president and party secretary with Chinese characteristics.The rule of China's university is that universities president is responsible for university under the leadership of the party,the universities president is the leader of university's administrative affairs,and party secretary is in charge of university's party affairs.In view of this,the core issue to be solved in this research is how to find the differences between the universities president and party secretary,and how is the relationship to the universities improvements,especially to the ranks of universities,so they can work together harmoniously to improve the level of university construction.The research process of this paper is divided into two categories: one is the comparison of domestic universities of higher learning and the other is the comparison of international universities.In the domestic comparison,this research papers selected the universities president and party secretary of 116 “211 ”universities in China as sample,mainly collected their background information such as age,gender and ethnicity,as well as their education background,work background and academic background information as for the research.As a counterpart,this research selected universities presidents of China's 39 “985” university as its comparison,for the “985”university basically represents the highest level of university in China.As there is no party secretary in foreign universities,only foreign universities presidents are used for comparative analysis.In contrast to foreign universities presidents,this research selected the top 30 universities in Times in the world and collected information about their universities presidents,and studied the relationship between the individual characteristics of university presidents and the changes in university rankings.The research methods adopted in this research are descriptive statistical analysis and LOGISTIC regression.The descriptive statistical analysis method is used to summarize and describe the overall situation of things and the relationship between things,it has a good effect in the study of some fragmentary information,relationship between research samples.For example,in the contrast of the educational background bewteen university president and party secretary,the difference between them can be clearly seen by descriptive statistical analysis with the help of pictures.LOGISTIC regression is a generalized linear regression analysis model,commonly used in data mining,automatic disease diagnosis,economic prediction and other fields.The dependent variable are "YES" and "NO",but independent variables contains a lot of information.This research creatively applies it to the analysis of the universities president and party secretary,the independent variables include all kinds of information of president and party secretary of 116 “211” universities.Through the analysis,we can find the key distinction between universities president and party secretary.Through the above research,the results of this research are as follows:(1)There are significant differences in the educational background and work background between the universities president and the party secretary;(2)The differences between the universities president and the party secretary in the educational background and work background are related to the construction level of university;(3)There are significant differences in the educational background and promotion mode between Chinese university universities president and foreign university universities president.At the same time,some conclusions worthy of further discussion have been found:(1)The principal with a foreign work experience is not conducive to university development;(2)The secretary with a working experience in the government sector is not conducive to university development.In this paper,the possible problems in the demonstration process are found.After the study,it is found that the mistakes in the university rankings lead to the above-mentioned incorrect conclusions.Therefore,the dissertation studies the top ten international university rankings in detail and reveals their common defects.The final section is policy recommendations.Through empirical analysis and above-mentioned results and according to the situation of China's university,this research puts forward the following suggestions:(1)fully familiarize with the environment of universities;(2)establish prestige and improve leading role;(3)strengthen cross-school mobility;(4)further improve leader's own quality;(5)promote dualistic governance system;(6)keep pace with the times.In addition,any stakeholder needs a rational view of the university rankings. |
