China, as a large agricultural country, bases its national economy on agriculture. Peasants account for the vast majority of the country's population, and countryside accounts for a large proportion in the social structure. From this perspective, the problem faced with china is the problem pf agriculture, countryside and peasants and sustainable and steady development of china's economy is in inseparable from the development of agriculture and countryside. Therefore, a study on the relationship between relationship between education and the economic development of countryside in China is an urgent task facing us and also the objective requirements the times has imposed upon us, which puts the exploration of relationship between education and the economic development of countryside into great significance. It not only helps laying foundations for the sustainable development of economy and society and promoting the industrialization and urbanization of countryside but also forms important paths of boosting the construction of socialist new countryside and building a harmonious socialist society. Thereafter, this thesis, taking the relationship between education and the economic development of countryside as a study angle, sets out to provide an in-depth and systematic analysis and discussion and expects to contribute to the harmonious development and mutual promotion of education and the economic development of countryside. The thesis is divided into four parts:1. Literature review of relationship between education and economic developmentThis part aims to search for a theoretic support for relationship between education and economic development. In view of the fact that the Marxist classical economic thinking of Education forms a very important theoretical basis for major decision-making of China's socialist economic construction, it naturally comes to the primary theoretical basis of this chapter. In the second place, in order to emphasize the role of education in formation and development of human capital and to enrich theoretical bases of this paper, the western human capital theories and other relative foreign theories form the second part of theoretical support. Meanwhile, China, as a agricultural country with a heritage of several thousand years with an underdeveloped commodity economy, has never stopped searching for the answers to relationship between education and the economic development of agriculture. Therefore, theoretical exploration of relationship between education and the economic development by China's ancient thinkers and educators is taken as the theoretical basis for the third part. Finally, with the development of various undertakings of economy, society and country, including education since reform and opening up, study on relationship between education and economic development has been attached more and more attention to by domestic experts and scholars and achieved a lot of useful results. Therefore, their theoretic contribution to relationship between education and economic development forms another important theoretical support of this thesis.2. Prominent problems affecting economic development of countryside in china's present education causeThe second part analyzes prominent problems affecting economic development of countryside in china's present education cause, including: unequal distribution of educational resources and educational opportunities between urban and rural areas,"education leading to poverty"phenomenon in the course of economic development in rural areas has become increasingly prominent, education structure design divorced from reality requirements of development of the rural economy, and so on and so forth. The author believes that the Government's investment in education mainly concentrates in the secondary and higher education, primary education funding is relatively low, and national education resources, especially high-quality education resources allocation, apparently tend to dominate the urban areas and deviate from countryside. As for the chance to receive education and level, there is a big gap between urban and rural residents. At the same time, with constraint of the income level of rural residents, they are of lower financial capacity. But miscellaneous fees in rural compulsory education stage, and the enormous amount of higher education fees, making many peasant families overwhelmed, highlighting the phenomenon of poverty resulting from education. In addition, the formation of a singular full-time general education structure in countryside positions the various forms of vocational education and adult education onto the verge of being neglected-- insufficient importance attached to them. The content of education and curricular settings separate them from the actual production situation. The graduates who accept rural education lack the actual capability of getting rich through production in their hometowns. These problems have constrained the positive boosting role of education upon the economic development of countryside and meanwhile affected a sustained and healthy development of economy in countryside.3. Cause analysis of educational problems affecting economic development in countrysideThe thesis studies the educational problems affecting economic development in countryside and provides an in-depth analysis of their causes so as to at the root prevent the problems from appearing again. The author attributes the causes mainly to three aspects: 1. Educational input mechanisms and management system are far from perfection. Since the mid-1980s, the state decentralized its power in basic education to the local authority, established a systemof local responsibility and grading management in which compulsory education is mainly funded by local governments, so that in some economically backward areas, due to the township financial incapability and the inner-county and inner-town imbalance in economic development, the implement of education drive in country is hindered. 2 Inadequate state investments in education gradually raise cost of education for children of peasant families. State public education funding shortage, particularly in rural areas severely underfunded education; together with otherwise increased education fees led to the increase of cost of education of rural children.3.There remains loopholes in educational deviation from market demand and exposure to market-oriented reform. With the reform of management system, rural adult education and vocational education, because of the status of being a weak industry and its development laws, can not fully meet the requirements of market operation, are suffering from being weakened, loss and break-down. In view of the weak rural school education and vocational school education, the short-term, emergency, popular and science education which are taken lead by the government alone, are far from meeting the different needs of rural residents.4. Policy proposals to improve existing problems in education and promote economic development in countrysideThe fourth part is the last part of the thesis. Based on the analysis and discussion of the above-mentioned three parts, the author put forwards Policy proposals to improve existing problems in education and promote economic development in countryside as follows: 1. Highlight the status of education in rural areas and increase investment support. Government must have a clear duty as to increase investment in rural education, improve the "on the county level" rural education management system, improve the quality of teachers in rural areas and upgrade the quality of education in rural areas. 2. Strengthen efforts to popularize compulsory education in rural areas, and guide higher education to serve rural economic development. First, we must strengthen efforts to popularize nine-year compulsory education in rural areas, and effectively improve the quality of the rural population. Secondly, we must raise funds through various channels to solve the problem of"education leading to poverty"of peasant families, focus on guiding the direction of the development of higher education so as to serve rural economic development. At the same time, we have to strengthen investigation and study, and implement the combination of agriculture, science, education. 3. Adjust the structure and content of education and develop rural vocational education and adult education. We have to focus on the establishment and improvement of rural education system, readjust and optimize the structure of rural education, and stick to t coordinated development of the rural basic education, vocational education and adult education. At the same time, we also have to reform the rural education curriculum and teaching content, make prominent characteristics of modern countryside so as to inject new vitality into the development of l education cause in rural areas.
