The education for girl pupils in the rural minority areas in western China is an important factor that influences the development of the elementary education of the minority areas. This issue originates from economy, schooling, and more from culture. My study, from an educational perspective, related to the contemporary characteristics of the economic development of China's reform and open policy, focuses on the pursuit of the answers of the following questions: in the 21st century of economic globalization, is there any new orientation for the discontinuation of the girls'education in minority areas? If the answer is yes, what is the orientation? Will it lead to new problems?The writer of these study has done the following jobs: First, the writer has cleared up the literature of cultural history, education and the discontinuation of the girls'education of Qiang nationality; Second, the writer has personally been to minority areas for investigations and interviews for many times; Third, the writer has traced the reasons for the discontinuation of the girls'education of Qiang nationality by narrative. This study includes the following parts:Introduction: it focuses on the pre-study preparations. In this part, the study motive is presented, the study subjects defined. The writer also gives comments on the study circumstances of Qiang culture, Qiang education and the discontinuation of the girls'education of Qiang nationality. The property and value of the narrative method for the study, the process of going to the study spot and the contemplation of researchers and research mores are clarified as well.Part Two: it focuses on the narrative of the story. The writer, based on the investigations and interviews in Chibusu Area and the L Middle School and in a historical and comparative perspective, has presented a three-dimension(i.e. familay, school and society) description of the changes of social environment of the dropout girl pupils of Qiang Nationality.Part Three: it focuses on the rethinking of the reasons for the discontinuation of the girls'education of Qiang nationality. In order to avoid the reach-me-down study result, the writer tries her best to find the reasons in a historical and comparative perspective. The writer's rethinking lies in four aspects, i.e. (1)the imbalance of family wealth and its relativity to the discontinuation of the girls'education of Qiang nationality; (2)the changes of culture and the values of family education; (3)the discontinuation of the girls'education of Qiang nationality in the perspective of cultural psychology; (4)educational localization and the education of minority areas. .
