The Change Of Ethnic Identity About Qiang Nationality

The dissertation is a study on the processes of the ethnic identity and enhancement in modern society of Qiang nationality under the new context. Based on the fieldwork, the author chooses the reconstruction of DAYU temple in Beichuan town as a case, studies the problem of the construction of DAYU temple in the history, the reconstruction of DAYU temple from 2001 to 2005, the reconstruction of DAYU's sacrifice, the variation of DAYU's myth text.To obtain the legalization of ethnic origin identity about Qiang group and HUAXIA group, the crisis of ethnic identity and economic in Beichuan town is the background that the reconstruction of DAYU temple. People in Beichuan added the cultural symbol of"HUAXIA"group on the DAYU temple; near to the authority and traditional in the design of DAYU's sacrifice; present the characteristics of historical transformation in DAYU's myth text. In this paper, the result of reconstruction of DAYU temple is the interaction between the Qiang nationality ethnic origin identity and HUAXIA group identity.On the situation of frequently intercourse and interaction in culture between each group in China, the ethnic identity is complicated and diversiform. The ethnic identity is completed always by the invisible fundamental emotion and visible instrumental operation.
