The Study Of Traditional Sports Curriculum Structure

National Traditional Sports is a new subject which emerges out of the third econormical wave of the global econormy integration and which has Chinese national characteristic.In 1998,the Ministry of Education issued the newly-revised list of university undergraduate course. Again it widens the the subject of Wushu into Natioal traditional sport and it becomes one of the new subjects.It widens the original simplex Wushu into a subject which contains Wushu, traditional education of keeping fit and traditional folk sports. At present, National Traditional Sports and relavent correlative subjects are being taught in 37 universities altogether.The Sports College of Shandong Normal University Started to enrol students of National Traditional Sport in 2001,including Wushu routine and Wushu fighting.That is the Wushu direction of National Traditional Sports(Wushu, traditional education of keeping fit and traditional folk sports.).We aim to train and cultivate PE teachers for the society. According to the papers of the Ministry of Education and the guidelines of the present higher education,and through expert questionaires,we make the following as the educational aims: Cultivating professionals with versatile gifts for society,who are well developed morally, intellectually and physically., and who have solid and profound technical knowledge and skills.They must have certain abilities of scientific research and practical innovation,suitable for the jobs of teaching and training, social sport guidance,office clerk and security guards,etc.After in-depth and careful studies and analysis on the curriculum set for the major of traditional physical education of Shandong Normal University deficiencies in setting curriculum have been found. The present curriculum is no longer suitable for the developing society needs, so according to the sesiety demands,the conditions of running school ,the demands of the resource market and the sustainable development of national traditional sports,the curriculum of national traditional sports of Shandong Normal University needs to be optimized , and the curriculum optimizing bases and principles are brought forward.The curriculum for the national traditioal sports of Shandong Normal University should be divided into four sections:skills, theories,moral character and widening.
