It is a weak point to make a study of the regional distribution of Sichuan Huis from the perspective of historical geography. This paper, at first, reviewed the processes of Huis' coming to Sichuan province and the distribution in Sichuan. After grasping the characteristics of Huis' distribution in different historical periods, it makes a further research on the reasons of the differences. This article, according to analysing the time of Huis' coming to Sichuan and regional distribution, works out the causings of the distributive differences and makes a comparison of the characteristics and patterns of Huis' distribution in history in Sichuan Province.This paper is consised of the introduction and the three parts of the text.In introduction, the author defines the researching space and time and explains the reasons of selecting this topic from the aspects of academic value and practical significance. Then, the author makes a summary of the researching areas and the achievements which are related to the Huis in present-day in Sichuan province and points out the weak points of the former research.The first part of the test mainly reviewes the facts and processes of the Huis' acestors before Yuan Dynasty. It preliminary summaries the reasons and the characteristics of Huis' acestors living in Sichuan province .The second part respectivly recorves Huis' regional distribution in Yuan ,Ming and Qind Dynasties and dicovers the distributive characteristics and the causings of distributive differences, based on taking about the Huis' development in Yuan ,Ming and Qing Dynasties and geographical space in Sichuan province.The last part deep analyses the distributive characteristics and differences and explores the relationships of the distributive characteristics and the distributive pattern of "living in small compact communities within a broad community mixed with the Hans"...
