The sustainable development refers to a development capability that satisfies the people's needs, but does no harm to that of the later generation. Its development model emphasizes the coordinated social, economical and environmental development pursues the harmony between the man and nature, and the people, which include seven factors: ecology balance, economical development, clean production, social progress, international coordination and culture reestablishment. Therefore, for sustainable development of athletics, while in planning how to win gold medals, considerations should be also paid to the factors of social, economical, and environmental norms,This paper, by way of collecting document, offering questionnaire, visiting experts and counting up data, has investigated and studied the training status of the reserve sports talents in Inner Mongolia. In terms of the athletes, coach and management, it centers around: 1.the number and quality of the athletes 2.the selection of athletes; 3.training status; 4.the combination of the contradiction in study and training with the sports education; 5.the "export and import" question of athletes; 6. the current athletic contest system; 7.pro-training back-up service system; 8.the distribution of sports items; 9.the source of coach; 10. the educational level and the title of coaches; 11.coaches position training and further education; 12.wage scale; 13.government and official's concern and support available; 14. the source of financial support. It is found in the investigation that the current contradiction between the study and training is not settled properly; the retired athletes low capability, plus sports items less, compositeness in winning the medals and high elimination rate have resulted in the limited support to the sports from the public and the disproportion of the successive first, second and third echelon athletes. What's more, athletes at different echelon are of limited quality and numbers. And coaches, with less opportunities for post training and further education and less attention paid to the training, are subjective and unitary in training and in selection of athletes; coaches felt unbalanced in their pay and gain and therefore they held more or less the idea as "Being a monk, you have to strike bell", being inactive in training. Actually, compared with other provinces and cities, Inner Mongolia autonomous region's economy is poor, and has limited funds, which is unitary, for reserve athletes. The coming-up questions like low science and technical content, backwardness in science and technology and limited rear service esurience are to be settled in our study. To counter the above-mentioned status, a complete study and analysis is made to the sustainable development of the reserve sport-athletes in Inner Mongolia, and some corresponding strategies are proposed as the following: 1. uphold the principle of "man placed first", walk the way of sustainable development; 2. inspire the individual and family's investment, and adopt the training mode for reserve athletes; 3.follow scientific layout, make full use of the advantages, stress the prominent points and adjust all the projects in time; 4.establish a corresponding successive management system for reserve sport-talents and maximize the function of the system; 5.consolidate the foundation, make plans dovetail, strengthen scientific study, and increase the usefulness of reserve athletes; 7.play the role of the contest, promote the training initiative in the athletes; 8.to combine the rewards with the punishment to inspire the athletes and maximize their potential; 9.explore the local potential, play the role of the advantages of the mode of sporting without quitting education and widen the road for the training of reserve athletes; 10.consolidate the sports education in middle and primary school so as to ensure the sustainable development of reserve sports athletes.
