Research On The Type Of The Parent-Infant Relationship

The relationship of the parent-infant, base on blood relationship or living together, is constituted of interaction between parents and children, is the entity that parents and children behavior system of nature relation and social relation, include the emotional exchanges and behavior association and so on. The relationship of the parent-infant is the most basic and important relation in the family, is also appeared at the earliest stage and keeps long in children's social association. The relationship of the parent-infant, with strong emotional intimacy, will directly influence the children's body and mind development, and will influence their social interaction in different levels later.The research is according to parents and children, from the four directions that include the request, reaction, the emotional intimacy and attachment, draws up《The Investigate Questionnaire of the Parent-Infant Relationship (Parents' Version)》, collects the related data to divide the parent-infant relationship into different types; Draw up《Infants'Social Behavior Questionnaire(Teacher's Version)》, collects the data of the infant social behavior, to find the correlation that between the directions of the type of the parent-infant relationship and the infants'social behavior, to assurance which type is benefit for infants'development.The research is a transverse type. I collect infants from high grade, middle grade and low grade at random-sample and their parents and teachers filled in the questionnaire .I got 138 valid Questionnaires in total. The principal results of this research indicate that:1. According to the four directions of request, reaction, the emotional intimacy and attachment, we divide the parent-infant relationship into four types ,and defined as extreme type, harmonious type, neglectful type and contradictory type. Extreme type includes 52 infants, amount for 37.7%; Harmonious type is includes 78 infants, amount for 56.5%; Neglectful type includes 4 infants, amount for 2.9%; Contradictory type is also includes 4 infants, amount for 2.9%.2. In the process of statistical analysis, in the divisional result of four types, four directions show some characteristics. The mean of request is low; the mean of reaction, emotional intimacy and attachment are high; the correlation between emotional intimacy and attachment is obvious.3. The type of the parent-infant relationship and the infants'social behavior show some correlation. The parents'request to the infants and infants'aggressive behavior have positive relation; the parents'emotional intimacy to the infants and infants'social withdraw behavior have negative relation; the infants'attachment to the parents and infants'social withdraw behavior have negative relation. Therefore, we can believe that the harmonious type is the best type.
